What virtual Community does mean?

As defined by Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_community):

“…is a group of people that primarily interact via communication media such as newsletters, telephone, email, internet social network service or instant messages rather than face to face, for social, professional, educational or other purposes. If the mechanism is a computer network, it is called an online community…”

But the way we see it a virtual Community is more than that, is an open space, where people can interact sharing their common interests to achieve a specific goal, related to the general objectives of the virtual community itself.
